Amanda joined the firm in 2016 and has over ten years of experience in providing commercial and intellectual property services for clients.
Having qualified and then worked in the largest law firm in the North East of England, she then joined a smaller regional firm and worked as a non-executive director for an SME before arriving at Harper James.
Amanda regularly supports a wide range clients from large PLCs to startups and SMEs, focusing mainly on intellectual property matters such as identifying, protecting, exploiting and policing intellectual property rights.
Her previous work includes managing an extensive trade mark portfolio and policing designs and copyright for clients in the music industry. She also works closely with patent attorneys in the exploitation of patented technology.
Amanda also has a great deal of experience in drafting commercial contracts, including:
- Franchising agreements
- Website legals
- Manufacturing agreements
- Distributorships
- IT contracts
With an analytics mind and a passion for solving challenging problems Amanda enjoys how intellectual property law enables her to work with creative clients, contributing to the process of innovation.
Outside of work, Amanda is a mum – which any mother will tell you is an incredibly rewarding and challenging role in itself – but she’s also passionate about holistic health. She practices yoga and meditation and enjoys learning about nutrition and natural health.
