Rashid Uzzaman is a Business Immigration Solicitor and joined Harper James Solicitors in May 2018. Rashid specialises in all aspects of corporate immigration matters, including Tier 1 (Entrepreneur and Exceptional Talent Migrants), Tier 2 (General, ICT and Sportspersons), Tier 4 (Students), Tier 5 (Temporary Workers) of the Points Based System and Sponsorship Licence Applications. He also specialises in auditing businesses for compliance with the immigration rules and provides training on how to implement and maintain an effective system of compliance in the workplace.
While Rashid has worked across a range of industries requiring legal help with migration to the UK, he also has experience in the following sectors:
- Sports law, including the hiring of sportsplayers such as footballers and motor racing drivers
- Public sector including judicial reviews
Prior to joining Harper James Solicitors, Rashid had been providing assistance on immigration matters to private individuals as a consultant solicitor for Ellis Hass & Co Solicitors.

He is known for providing a high-quality client service and for his extensive knowledge of UK immigration law. Additionally, his fluency in several key languages and ability to problem solve allow him to regularly exceed client expectations. He is able to converse fluently in English, Bengali, Hindi, Sylheti and Urdu.
As part of his education, Rashid studied an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law at Nottingham University and later obtained a Pg. Dip. in Legal Practice (LPC), with Distinction Grade at the Nottingham Law School. He subsequently obtained specialist immigration qualifications through the Law Society IAAS, achieving Senior Caseworker Status in June 2013 and Supervisor Status in June 2015.
Away from the office, Rashid is passionate about technology and video game development, having designed and developed various mobile phone applications and websites for non-profit purposes. Rashid is also a keen video game blogger and has written articles charting developments at the E3 Videogame Convention in Los Angeles. Technology aside, Rashid enjoys spending time with his wife and son Ibrahim, taking walks and attending the local gymnasium.
